Brightmont Academy in Michigan
The mainstream school environment often doesn’t work well for children with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and related learning difficulties. Their need to move or tendency to lose focus in large groups can lead to them being called out for “bad behavior” by teachers—and mocked by other students when they are called out. This type of environment often erodes confidence or breeds frustration.
If you’re worried about your child with ADHD being left out—or left behind—Brightmont Academy is here to offer another path.
Our accredited private school provides one-to-one education with full-time school, single course, and tutoring options for students with ADHD. Without the distraction of other students, your child has more opportunity to hone in on the material being taught—especially with his or her own teacher to provide support and encouragement every step of the way.
Our teachers are skilled at reducing distractions and re-directing focus to create a learning environment where your child can thrive.
Within this learning environment, your child will progress through an engaging, mastery-based curriculum. Working closely with your child, the teacher will be able to redirect his or her focus at key moments, identify subjects and activities that are most engaging, and determine which concepts need to be revisited before moving forward.
In this learning model, your child can achieve academic success, develop confidence, and prepare for a bright, independent future.
Brightmont Academy is an accredited private school offering one-to-one instruction and tutoring for students in grades 6-12.
Founded in 1999, we have helped over 3,800 students experience success, and have 14 campuses in the states of Arizona, Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota, and Washington.
At the center of Brightmont Academy’s personalized learning approach is one-to-one instruction: one highly qualified teacher working with one student throughout every learning session.
Brightmont Academy offers customized learning plans tailored to each student's individual academic needs, learning difficulties, and styles.
Some students focus best with shorter learning periods or at specific times of the day. At Brightmont, students can choose their own schedule and work at their optimal pace. Teachers motivate and mentor students, helping them stay on track to graduate.
Our campus directors and teachers can customize both the instruction and the learning environment to help your child reach their full potential. With our one-to-one instructional model, your child will have the full attention of an experienced teacher. Every class. All the time. We work with:
Students with learning difficulties
Gifted and 2E students
Athletes and performers who need flexible scheduling
Students suffering from anxiety and/or depression
To foster continual progress, each teaching moment is optimized to accommodate a student’s needs:
Learning style: Instructional methods leverage each student’s learning strengths.
Pace: The pace of instruction slows when the student struggles and accelerates when the student "gets it."
Motivation: The teacher finds the most effective ways to encourage and motivate each student.
